Remembrance Parade / Services – Nuneaton
11 November, 2018
On this Remembrance Sunday, residents and visitors to Nuneaton and Bedworth remember those who have given their lives in the service of our country at four parades and services held across the Borough at Nuneaton, Bedworth, Bulkington and Ash Green. However, the parade and service in Nuneaton is acknowledged as the principle Borough Remembrance Sunday event, which consists of a parade from Market Place in Nuneaton Town Centre along Coton Road to the War Memorial in Riversley Park, around which the Service of Remembrance takes place. Wreaths are laid on the Memorial by those present, and a single wreath is placed at the foot of the ‘Old Bill’ statue.
Following the service and wreath laying, the parade leaves Riversley Park, returning to Nuneaton Town Centre via Coton Road, passing Nuneaton Town Hall, from where the Mayor of Nuneaton and Bedworth, as first citizen of the Borough, will take the salute from the passing parade.
On its return to the Town Centre, the main parade will acknowledge the Gurkha Memorial with an ‘eyes right’.
Anyone who wishes to lay a wreath should make themselves known to the Wreath Marshals in the Park no later than 10.30am and the marshals will look after them. Anyone in the Parade who wishes to lay a wreath should, as they enter the park, go directly to the bottom of the park by the Rockery where the Wreath Marshals are located and make themselves known so they can be placed into order.

10:30am – The civic party moves off from the Town Hall and makes their way to the War Memorial where they form up and await the Parade
