Immerse yourself in life during World War 2 by taking part in Nuneaton Museum’s special evening event, The Blitz and the Borough

Take a step back in time and experience what life was like during the WW2 blitz when Nuneaton Museum & Art Gallery became the ARP (Air Raid Precautions) headquarters for the Borough.
For its Museum at Night Event on October 27, visitors will be transported back to early 1941 and are invited to immerse themselves in the blitz experience by dressing the part, listening to a wartime sound piece, handling original artefacts and enjoying a trip to the mini cinema to watch a film about rationing.
There will be lots of authentic activities to take part in, including; sorting salvage, making a gas mask, packing an evacuees suitcase and digging for victory. Guests will also be able to find out more about becoming an Air Raid Warden or joining the Home Guard and will be able to collect an ID badge as a memento of their visit.
Suitable for all ages, the event will take place from 6 until 8.30pm and although free, donations will be welcomed, all children should be accompanied by an adult.
